CSIC is the largest public institution dedicated to research in Spain and the third largest in Europe. It is responsible for 20 percent of international scientific publications in Spain. It has more than 3,200 scientists and 3,800 pre and postdoctoral researchers. The Centre for Social Sciences and Humanities (CCHS-CSIC) is one of the largest public academic facilities in Europe dedicated exclusively to research in Humanities and Social Sciences; it is a newly created centre, highly committed to multidisciplinary approaches, with an internal structure of service, support and laboratory units addressed to promote high quality research. The Research Group in Demographic Dynamics has a well established research record in the field of population and migration studies.
