Defence for Children International (DCI) is a leading child-rights-focused and membership-based grassroots Movement, founded in 1979, the first International Year of the Child. We promote and protect children’s rights at the local, national, regional and international levels. DCI was one of the drafters of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), the most widely ratified human rights treaty in history.
