The Migration Research Platform encompasses activities under the Framework Programme on Migration and Mobility. For policy responses to be sound, a substantiated understanding of the phenomena surrounding migration is needed. Socio-economic research on migration contributes to the evidence base on which such policies are developed. Since 1994, approx. 80 projects on migration have been funded within the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Framework Programme of the EU.
